U14 National Cup: Dromin 3 – 2 Rock Celtic

Although only a narrow defeat this was probably the Rock’s worst display so far this season.

Rock played with little skill and seemed to lack heart throughout the match. In fairness the extremly poor pitch conditions (similar to that of a bog) may have played a part in this!!
It was very hard to identify more than two passes put together.

The Rock had a slow start and were making several mistakes which accounted for conceding the 1st goal.
They were letting themselves get bullied all over the pitch decided to hoof the ball rather than pass.

However in the last 5 minutes of the 1st half the Rock started to create some chances and got a equaliser when Jack Reid got onto the end of a free kick to head the ball into the back of the net.

It got better a minute later when Ross Kelly got onto a through ball and slip it pass the keeper.
However that was how good it got for the Rock as they did nothing in the 2nd half and conceded two sloppy goals.

What was disappointing here is Dromin were a poor team on the day but the Rock failed to put them away.
In fairness to the Rock if it was on a better surface they would have got the passing game going.
